Static Text and Dynamic Text In this course, I focus on showing the difference between static text and dynamic text. You can write your favorite sentence right after the one I offered. OK, have a try. Series: SWF Quicker 1.6 Estimated Time of Completion: 20 minutes Firstly, it’s better to have a general idea about static text and dynamic text. Dynamic texts allow users to input something or change its content implemented. Take this one as an example, you can write your sentence on it or change mine. The other one is static text, like its name-static, you can not input anything in it or change any character, but it has its own advantages.
The text can have different font, color and size. Now, I’ll show you how I get this Favorite sentence box. Step one: Launch SWF Quicker Set the background color in properties panel. Well, I like dark background; you can select the color you prefer. Step two: Design static text. Select text tool, and look at properties panel. By default, text type is static.
Set the properties for the title and write title on the canvas. After select the text, right-click it to choose Break Apart. Each character now can be considered as a separate object. Right-click the text again to choose Create Old Style Effect 3. In the pop-up dialog box, choose an effect you like.
Here is all you need to learn about Flash playback in Resolume.
Well, I like RotateOverturning3, and I take it. Step three: Design dynamic text 1. Select Text tool. Look at properties panel, change type to dynamic, hit editable button, which has a pencil on it. Tips: To show the border of the text field, hit show border button with a square on it 2. Drag a text box on the canvas to show the text field. Write your sentence.
Click preview button to see your presentation. You can write your favorite sentence here. Thank you for sharing your favorite sentence with me. Hope you have as much fun as I had. Click to download source file.
Googled around a bit and haven't found anything I like. Looking for a countdown timer to use in Resolume 5 that has hours, minutes, seconds and miliseconds then possibly the option for the text at the end to say 'Happy New Year!' I would like it to use the synced computer time. Seems like I might be able to use quartz composer to do this, but I haven't looked into it. I found although when I load it into Resolume 5 it doesn't work even after changing the countdown date to 2016.
Any other loops, graphics etc you guys use for NYE gigs? I saw the other thread on this that recommended loops from VideoBlocks. Ooh you're gonna love this.
Is based on Java and it's basically made for visual artists and the like. It is very easy to write stuff like this, in fact your clock with milliseconds can be written in one line. This one will give the time until the next occurrence of midnight: text (nf(24-hour,2)+':'+nf(60-minute,2)+':'+nf(60-second,2)+'.' +nf(int(1000-System.currentTimeMillis%1000),3).substring(0,2), 10, 100); There are a few other steps you would need to take though, after installing the Syphon library:. Create a nice big font. Make a PGraphics object for the syphon server and set its size to whatever you want (your projector resolution probably).
init the syphon server. render your text using the line above to the Syphon server's PGraphics object Download the processing IDE and have a look through the examples, then install the Syphon library (Sketch - Library - Add Library.) and check out the examples from that. PM me or continue the thread if you want any help. EDIT: changed code to actually do what you wanted, duh. I did comment the code so you can see what each line does but looked like hell on reddit so I put it on. It's a slightly improved version which has the background as transparent instead.
The one long line just prints out hours, minutes, seconds formatted to two characters (so for example you get 09 instead of just 9) then there's a bit of fiddling to get and format the milliseconds, the last two numbers are the X and Y co-ordinate that the text appears at. I'm not sure what is going on with your garbled desktop problem.
I tried it in Arena and it works just fine. I'd suggest trying the example in my other comment below, which just outputs a spinning cube (and is the example that comes with the library, so it should work). If you can't get it working, I think I do have a QC countdown timer that I made as an exercise some time ago; that could easily be adapted for NYE. Processing is really useful. I find it a lot easier than QC and you can do some great stuff with it. If you like watching videos, is well worth a watch.
You are most likely going to want a plug in or flash file to do the countdown based off your computers time, especially if you want it to count down hours before hand. You do not want to have a clip no matter how simple over a half hour on resolume, it will be pointlessly large of a file; you will also have to launch that file EXACTLY however long it is before new years. If you use something going off your computer's time then you don't have to worry if something goes wrong since it will go right back to the correct spot in the countdown. Not sure what your best option is, but I would find a flash countdown timer. Personally I am only going to do a 5 minute countdown which I already have a clip for.
